Peter was named as one of the world's leading mining lawyers by MiningMx. He received his BA LLB (cum laude) from the University of Cape Town and his LLM with first class honours from Cambridge University, England, where he was elected senior scholar of Christ's College for academic achievement. A member of the Council of the University of Cape Town from 1999 to 2008, he was appointed by the Minister of Provincial and Local Government as chair of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Local Government Transformation in South Africa (2000 to 2002) and, prior to that, was leader of the Official Opposition in Gauteng province, South Africa.
"Spatial Dimension is privileged to have a person of the calibre of Peter Leon present at our User Conference. I look forward to his keynote address where he will share his vast experience on international mining regulatory best practice.
