FlexiCadastre selected as Namibia’s new Mining Cadastre System

Spatial Dimension is pleased to announce that the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy has selected FlexiCadastre as their new mining cadastre system.

“This is a very exciting project for us as the Namibian Ministry of Mines and Energy has always been at the forefront of using technology to assist in good governance in their minerals sector,” said Mr Bill Feast, Chief Executive of Spatial Dimension.

“The Ministry of Mines and Energy has invested heavily in computer-based systems since the early 1990’s and for many years had one of the leading Computerized Mineral Title Management Systems (CTMS) globally. However as a custom built solution it became difficult and costly to support and maintain, and in 2013 the Ministry approached Spatial Dimension for a proposal to implement FlexiCadastre to automate their mineral titling workflows and improve compliance within the sector.”

“This is not the first time that Spatial Dimension has been contracted to replace a mining cadastre system that failed to meet the long term needs of the client. Indeed Spatial Dimension was contracted by the DRC to replace a custom solution that failed to meet their operational needs back in 2007. It now gives me great pleasure to welcome Namibia as the fifteenth country to implement FlexiCadastre,” concluded Mr Feast.

FlexiCadastre is now part of the Landfolio software suite.
