Mozambique contracts Spatial Dimension to expand Mining Cadastre System

Spatial Dimension is pleased to announce that the Mozambique Ministry of Mineral Resources has contracted Spatial Dimension to expand their existing Mining Cadastre System to include Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI) compliance reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the Kimberly Process for the diamond sector as well as to extend the current footprint of the Mining Cadastre System to include an additional four regional offices.

The project is funded through the Extractive Industries Technical Advisory Facility (EI-TAF) of the World Bank.

“This contract, coming almost exactly 10 years to the day that Spatial Dimension was first contracted by the Mozambique Ministry of Mineral Resources to implement a new computerised Mining Cadastre System, is particularly special for all of us at Spatial Dimension,” said Mr Bill Feast, Chief Executive of Spatial Dimension.

“Since its launch as Mozambique’s Mining Cadastre system a decade ago, FlexiCadastre has become the most widely used Mining Cadastre System in the world. It is used on all continents except Antarctica, has a user base of over 1200 users who are supported in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish from our staff in Vancouver, Cape Town, Pretoria, Belo Horizonte and Sydney.”

“By adopting our FlexiCadastre solution, Mozambique has been able to stay current with technology changes over the past decade through our Software Maintenance programme. This is a key differentiator of Spatial Dimension’s value proposition in the industry, we deliver sustainable solutions that are easy to support, maintain and extend as needs and technology change.”

“Too often in this market we see organisations with legacy and difficult to maintain or extend solutions turning to Spatial Dimension for assistance. We look forward to the next decade of supporting a sustainable and growing mining sector in Mozambique,” concluded Mr Feast.

FlexiCadastre is now part of the Landfolio software suite.
