Spatial Dimension is pleased to announce that it has recently launched a Mining Cadastre Portal for Mozambique.
The website is available at https://portals.landfolio.com/mozambique. Spatial Dimension worked together with the Mozambique Ministry of Mineral Resources (MIREM) to develop the portal to improve transparency and promote investment in the Mozambique mining sector. Mozambique joins a growing group of countries that have decided to put practical effect to internal efforts to drive operational efficiencies, improve stakeholder communications, reduce opportunities for corruption and improve transparency within their respective mining sectors.
“Globally, Mozambique is one of the hottest exploration destinations and the Ministry is committed to sustainable and orderly development of its minerals sector. Not only does this portal include all mining tenure in Mozambique, but also includes state mining contracts.
The publication of these mining contracts, together with their key contractual obligations, conditions and spatial footprint, is a significant milestone in transparency initiatives as promoted by the Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI). Mozambique has been an EITI Compliant country since 2012,” said Mr Bill Feast, Chief Executive of Spatial Dimension.
“Spatial Dimension supports the goals of the EITI through our engagements with both Private and Public sector clients, but most specifically through these EITI Compliant Pubic Portals that allow Government Agencies to publish their Mining Cadastre, Contracts and Revenues online.
We look forward to rolling this technology out to other countries in the near future,” concluded Mr Feast.
