The Northwest Territories of Canada to implement Land Tenure Optimization System

Spatial Dimension Canada ULC, a Trimble company, is pleased to announce that it has recently won a tender with the Government of Northwest Territories (GNWT), Canada to implement a Land Tenure Optimization System.

Working alongside Aurora Geosciences, Trimble will implement Landfolio as an enterprise-scale land management solution in the Land, Oil & Gas and Minerals Departments of the GNWT.

“The Government of Northwest Territories is to be congratulated for having the long term vision to replace a number of disparate legacy systems with a modern enterprise solution such as Landfolio. We look forward to working with our Yellowknife based partners Aurora Geosciences, as we execute on this important project for the GNWT over the next three years”, said Mike Baumgartner, Managing Director: Americas, Trimble Land Administration.

"We too would like to congratulate the government on moving forward with a land tenure system that is progressive and adaptive. With the technology provided by Trimble and a full understanding of the needs the land tenure system needs to fulfill, from our over 40 years in the NWT, our partnership will allow a smooth transition into Landfolio", said Gary Vivian, Chairman, Aurora Geosciences Ltd.

“Winning this project with the GNWT caps a truly phenomenal year for our Landfolio business. So far this year we have won large scale enterprise implementation projects with the Governments of Barbados, Botswana, Malawi, Saudi Arabia and Sint Maarten. On the other side of our business, where we assist the private sector with an enterprise approach to land related compliance, we are privileged to have expanded our work globally with companies of all sizes in the mining, oil and gas and renewables sectors”, concluded Bill Feast, Managing Director, Trimble Land Administration.
